The tragic tale of a dancer and a schoolteacher is told in Pinjara. Here, the metaphorical "cage" represents life. Due to her love for the teacher, who she was powerless to save, the dancer perishes. Instead of continuing to live as a man who has lost respect, the teacher would prefer to pass away as someone else. This is the tale of their escape from their prisons by death.
