Pela Adhi Akshar (2017)

Pela Adhi Akshar is a feel-good coming-of-age film that attempts to investigate the space between boys and girls, fact and fiction, reality and fantasy, and life and film. It's also everyone's story, an insightful look at the lives of people we're all too familiar with: ourselves. Four friends are at a crossroads in their lives, attempting to figure out what to do with the remainder of their lives. These guys are a microcosm of the gang you'd find at your regular hangout, college canteen, hood joint, or in your own living room, peering into the mirror. Vishal is an impulsive man who lives by the day. Mr. Head-on-Shoulder, a pragmatic Prashant, has a five-year life plan. Sunil, befuddled, must discover himself and a path into the heart of the love of his life, while escapist Zubin (a.k.a. Zebra), the gang's classic clown, couldn't care less as long as he had his booze. The director uses the digital medium to present distinct textures of Pela Adhi Akshar in an attempt to connect the realism of life with the illusion of film. Girl meets boy. Reality collides with fantasy. Film meets life.
