Menka Urvashi (2019)

Menka Urvashi is a film that tells the tale of Marathi culture in rural Maharashtra between 1955 and 1975. Tukaram Patil, the village's wealthy and powerful baron, is obsessed with power and motivated by self-interest. Due to a set of circumstances, he finds himself at conflict with a poor farmer named Dhanaji, and he devises a cunning plan to bring Dhanaji down. As Patil's tyranny continues, fate intervenes in the form of Ambika, a lavani dancer who takes it upon herself to see that justice is done. This is Matchindra Chate's debut directorial attempt, and he is a well-known figure in Maharashtra's education industry.
